Laptop Screen Repair

Screen replacement

If the screen is cracked you want to determine if the invertor is ok. A good indicator is if you see some light on the screen when the laptop is powered on. Usually when a screen is cracked you get some very interesting colored patterns on the screen and ou can see some light shining through

We will need to disassemble the laptop and remove the screen for proper identification. We may have a match on hand, if not then the part can be ordered. Before ordering a new screen we will try confirm that there is no other damage that will prevent a complete repair

Bulb replacement

Bulb replacement is rarely required but we can perform the procedure when appropriate. Often this is less expensive than ordering the entire screen.

Invertor replacement

If you see nothing on the screen, it may be because the light is not on. This doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with the light. There is a part in your laptop that converts AC to DC power for the purpose of powering that one tiny light. Replacing this part might just do the trick. We can check this for you before ordering the part and get your laptop up and running again.

One simple thing to check if you have no video is to press your FN key and the corresponding key that toggles whether video is displayed on the laptop or the external video port or both. Also use this keystroke while having an external monitor connected. If you can't get video on an external monitor then the problem may not be the laptop screen at all.
